Welcome to our first newsletter of the Autumn Term. We have missed you all and welcome you back along with lots of new faces, to a month filled with fun and learning!

This month is โ€œAll about meโ€, welcoming an amazing 16 new children this term we have based all our wonderful planning around our childrenโ€™s interests whilst we get to know everyone and settle any first nerves.

Transition can be an emotional time, and can differ for all children. Please do be patient these days will pass and before long your child will be one of those children who walk past on the weekend asking you to come in to pre-school!

This month we will be following our curriculum in many different ways. We will be learning about similarities and differences between our friends, learning which countries our friends are from and which languages they speak.

We have started learning Makaton to help with our speech, language and communication skills. These are run twice a week per side to try and offer it to as many of our children as we can.

Ducklings will learn this on Wednesdays and Fridays both morning and afternoon sessions. Our Swans will be accessing this program on a Monday and a Thursday. We would love to hear your feedback on this and you can use the EYlog app to upload your own observations to show your childโ€™s keyperson ๐Ÿ˜Š

We will be talking about our families and who is in our own family, if we can please ask that you send a family photo into nursery with them as we will be making a family photo album of all our families for the home corner on each side of the room. Alongside this discussing where everyone lives, so a photo of your homes too would be lovely ๐Ÿ˜Š Sorry some homework for you all! But all of this common ground will provide us all with some amazing speech and communication opportunities for our circle time sessions as children love to speak about their own personal experiences.

We have some lovely events lined up:
On Friday 9th September we would love it if you could all bring in a Teddy Bear for National Teddy Day. Please clearly label all bears, we will be enjoying a lovely teddy bears picnic for our snack time.

Monday 12th & Tuesday 13th September we will all be dressing up for Roald Dahl Day. We would love if you could share a book or film together over the next week as we will be sharing some Roald Dahl stories ourselves, and encourage you to dress up as your favourite characters to promote Literacy Week ๐Ÿ˜Š

This term we will be planning a trip to the local Welling Library to increase our understanding of the World in which we live. A trip to Danson Park for our nature trail will also be planned in small groups a letter will go out for this soon.

Thank you for reading ๐Ÿ˜Š
