Level 5 Qualified Practitioner

Hi, I’m Ivonne!
I am a Level 5 qualified practitioner currently working towards my BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies. I’ve been working in Early Years since I was 17, gaining over six years of hands-on experience across different settings. My journey in early education has been shaped by a deep passion for creating nurturing, safe, and inclusive environments where children can thrive.

From a young age, I’ve always felt a strong vocation to work with children, especially in the Early Years. I love being part of their learning journey, observing them grow, build confidence, and reach key milestones. I have a calm and patient approach, and I place great importance on consistency, routines, and emotional connection to help children feel secure.

Having moved to the UK as a child without speaking English, I bring first-hand experience in supporting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL). This personal insight helps me connect with and support children in similar situations. I haven’t completed formal EAL training yet, but it’s an area I’m passionate about and plan to explore further through future professional development.

My favourite parts of the day includes storytelling, arts and crafts, and supporting imaginative play. Every day is different, and I truly enjoy watching children explore the world with curiosity and wonder.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my two young children. We enjoy going on adventures from soft play and picnics to the cinema. I also have a Labrador who keeps me active, and I recently found a new creative hobby in beauty, learning how to apply eyelash extensions.

Becoming a mum of my two year old and my 10 month old baby opened my eyes to the world of Early Years in a new way. It deepened my understanding of children’s needs and how important it is to build strong, trusting relationships not only with children but with their families too. I’m excited to continue growing in my career and making a lasting impact in the lives of the children I support.
